Kirk Hammett, the renowned guitarist of Metallica, has recently put his second San Francisco residence on the market, with an asking price of $13 million.

Previously, Hammett had listed another adjacent property in the Sea Cliff neighborhood late last year, which sold for $12.8 million in March. The current house, located at 320 Sea Cliff Ave., was initially listed at $16 million last year but has since been reduced by $3 million. Mark Levinson from Pacific Union is once again representing Hammett in this sale.

Describing the property, Levinson emphasized its breathtaking surroundings, likening the experience to being on vacation: “It’s like going to Big Sur or Carmel… The view is everything. The sound of the ocean is everything. It’s mesmerizing. You can’t get away from it.”

The three-story, 5,200-square-foot mansion offers panoramic views of Land’s End at China Beach, the Pacific Ocean, and the Marin Headlands from picture windows on every level, including the master bathroom. Inside, the house features four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a remodeled kitchen with granite counters and modern appliances, a sunken living room, and a spacious family room. The walls also showcase pieces from Hammett’s renowned collection of classic horror movie posters.

Built in 1926, the home exudes the charm of the Spanish Mediterranean period, with vibrant tile work, red-tiled rooflines, and turrets adding to its allure. The property is described as a “magnificent private gated estate,” offering privacy, elegance, and comfortable family living.
